Thanks for the comments guys. The core of Gyminee is definitely about fitness and exercise, but a big part of that is also nutrition. In essence, Gyminee is all about creating tools and motivation for a healthy lifestyle. To stay true to that, we try to be flexible enough to allow people to lose weight, gain weight, and reach pretty much any other fitness goal they may have.

I don't think you need to worry too much about Gyminee becoming just-another-dieting-site, because that's not what we're all about, and we don't think a site like that can really improve people's lives.

Please focus just on fitness. There is plenty of stuff you could do like organizing sports events and meet-ups.

I for one don't want to know about people dealing with fat issues. Send the fatties to WeightWatchers and keep the fit and motivated discussion here. Please.

Gyminee guys please stick to fitness.

There are so many diet and food sites that are a dime a dozen but no one has just done a good fitness community.

Stick to your core and you will get ALOT more followers on the site.

By diversifying into the fatties you're damaging the brand. Just to fitness better than anyone with good editorial content and you'll surely have a winner.

Best, Jona

That's a really enlightening study... good to know. I have the hardest time staying focused when I'm trying to lose weight. Just knowing how much keeping a diary can help makes me want to try harder.

@Krystal - Exercise is definitely important, but proper nutrition is still necessary to be truly healthy. If you kill yourself exercising everyday, but fill up your diet with ice cream and potato chips, then chances are you still won't gain all the benefits of a healthy lifestyle (increased energy level, focus, etc.). Even something as simple as getting enough water can really impact your body more than you think.

It does take time as you pointed out, but you have to really weigh the cost versus the benefit.

People focus way too much on food and not enough on exercise. If they just did 30 minutes a day of heart pounding workouts they would be much slimmer. Who has got the time to fill in a daily food diary???? get real and get some exercise!!
